Revealing pop that seeks to foster a connection...
Melbourne-based pop songwriter Mareya returns with her new track ‘ADHD & Me.’
Now living in Australia, Māori pop artist Mareya pledges to express her truth with each new release. She uncovers aspects of her life, merging Millennial alternative sounds reminiscent of Avril Lavigne with the dynamic flair of Olivia Rodrigo.
In its most personal form, her latest single ‘ADHD & Me’ delves into her ADHD diagnosis and its effects on her life.
Being open and candid about her journey, ‘ADHD & Me’ reflects the perspective of someone with significant insights to share. She explains…
“‘ADHD & Me’ is a song that captures the ADHD experience while also highlighting the sense of liberation I felt when I finally understood what was happening to me. Learning the reasons behind my behavior lifted much of the self-blame I carried for who I am. It was enlightening, like a lightbulb moment.”
Crafted in her home studio in Melbourne and co-produced by Younique, the upbeat single seeks to resonate with others who have faced similar challenges. She shares, “This song really validated my feelings and was incredibly healing and cathartic to write and perform. I just hope it helps even one other person feel understood and seen.”
