The beloved band's final statement...
Saint Etienne will be releasing their new album ‘International’ on September 5th.
The cherished group, consisting of Sarah Cracknell, Pete Wiggs, and Bob Stanley, has been together for 35 years, with their latest offering being the nearly ambient collection ‘The Night,’ released last year.
Having decided to conclude their collaborative journey, the new album ‘International’ will mark their thirteenth and final release.
Scheduled for September 5th, the album features contributions from guests including Nick Heyward, Janet Planet of Confidence Man, Erol Alkan, Paul Hartnoll of Orbital, and Vince Clarke.
The new single ‘Glad’ is available now – co-written and produced with Tom Rowlands from the Chemical Brothers, the guitar segment was provided by Jez Williams of Doves.
Sarah Cracknell remarks...
We approached Tom to see if he had any songs in development that would suit Saint Etienne, and he shared a backing track he’d been creating with Jez from Doves. We instantly fell in love with it, and writing the melody and lyrics for ‘Glad’ was effortless.
Pete Wiggs adds:
The song expresses joy in simple everyday pleasures, such as nature and the outdoors, especially when life feels overwhelming.
Saint Etienne are arranging live performances for 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
