DEADLETTER: "The music appears to have truly connected with fans while on tour."

“It’s fantastic to be among some of these legends of the industry. That’s something you dream about as a child.”

       — Zac Lawrence As summer approaches with a packed festival schedule, the band anticipates celebrating more significant milestones. “We have around 40 festivals this summer, most of which are abroad.” He highlights the opportunity to perform alongside acts such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Iggy Pop, and Massive Attack at Pohoda in Slovakia this July as a major highlight. “Last year, we were supposed to be headlining in place of Queens Of The Stone Age after they withdrew, but then a huge storm hit the airfield and destroyed everything. So, we’re really looking forward to going there this year and making up for it. It’s just amazing to share the stage with such icons of the industry. It’s one of those things you fantasize about as a kid, especially after doing your first festival and loving it; then you start performing at festivals, and eventually, you find yourself on the same lineup as your major influences.” He expresses that enjoying these distant adventures with his closest friends is a significant motivator for keeping the band passionate and enthusiastic. “I often have moments in reflection where I can truly appreciate what we’ve accomplished, where we’ve performed, and who we’ve played for. It’s something I always dreamed of, so it’s vital to cherish that feeling. We’re also exploring new territories this year - we’re going to Iceland, Poland, Sweden, and Norway, which we’re really excited about.” Regarding the band’s ethos and performance delivery, he mentions that the essentials of festival season remain consistent. “It’s about approaching each gig with the same intensity; the only variation is the length of the set. We aim to keep the energy levels high; having attended many festivals ourselves, we think about what we’d want to see on stage.” Looking beyond summer, the band plans to maintain their momentum into their second full-length album. “We’re definitely gearing up to release new music soon, but our primary focus is on creating a better second album, which I expect will come out next year.” Zac expresses his eagerness to write and record from a fresh perspective. “This record will be much more focused and less of a disparate collection. Given that alone, it’s going to sound quite different; we’re all very excited for this upcoming project.” DEADLETTER will perform at the Brighten The Corners Festival, scheduled for June 13-14, 2025, in Ipswich.
