Billianne Reveals Her First Album 'Modes Of Transportation'

      Canadian songwriter claims her space...

Canadian singer-songwriter Billianne is set to release her debut album, ‘Modes of Transportation’, this summer.

In the past 18 months, the songwriter has experienced significant growth and shared memorable moments with her fans. Now, her debut album is on the verge of debuting, scheduled to arrive in just a few weeks.

The album, titled ‘Modes of Transportation’, is due to be released on August 15th through The Orchard, showcasing a complete exploration of Billianne’s emotional breadth.

Her new single ‘Baby Blue’ is available now, and beneath its cheerful surface lies a poignant reflection on heartbreak. She shares...

This song, similar to my previous pop track, explores themes of longing while also acknowledging that I didn’t do anything wrong in the relationship; I simply tried to be there, but the other person couldn’t match my efforts. The playful lyrics ‘I’ll be looking back just to study it baby, you’ll be looking back like whoopsie daisy’ express a light-hearted message of ‘you’re going to reflect and realize you messed this all up.’

I also liked incorporating ‘was gonna be your west-end girl’ because I aspire to one day be that girl living in Toronto’s west end. Since I haven’t yet been in a relationship, this song is my way of anticipating a future break-up while living in the west end and commuting via subway, all woven into the narrative of ‘Baby Blue.’

      Listen in now.

Renowned for his heartfelt ballads of heartbreak and yearning, the Irish singer/songwriter takes a new creative direction with this latest track, presenting a triumphant, gospel-influenced anthem that is both surprising and exhilarating.

I typically have no inclination to join the 'in-crowd,' but I was willing to make an exception to witness The Dare perform at a venue he knows very well. As night #4 of his seven-show residency at Baby's All Right began, I navigated through a crowd of 280 to enjoy the evening from various angles... to see how this music and culture impacts people while also allowing myself to partake in the enjoyment. The Dare's debut album, 'What's Wrong With New York?,' is now available.
