To introduce my album focused on self-reflection, I start from my lowest point – a moment of intense burnout and despair.

      * * *

Raw, introspective, and melancholic, BODHI’s newest single captures the emotional core with remarkable accuracy. “This Little Dove” is a slow-burning, soulful allure that is both comforting and painful: an atmospheric confession that resonates profoundly. Their voice – striking, beautiful, and heartbreakingly gentle – resonates with true vulnerability, transforming pain into art and exhaustion into relief. It’s a song that permeates your very being, felt in your bones, your breath, and the silent spaces you often keep hidden from others.

      This Little Dove – BODHI

If I’m reaching my limit, please help me escape from myself

Ignite my vices, leave me wading in the water

If you need me to stay, I promise I’ll pray for my health

      I fear my body’s aging,

I worry I’m losing my grip.

Released on May 30 via Nettwerk Music Group, “This Little Dove” marks the third single this year from the 23-year-old artist based in Bridgeport, CT, and it is as enchanting as it is purgative. BODHI begins with a plea – “If I’m reaching my limit, please help me escape from myself” – and the intensity only grows from there. “I’m on fire, fire! This little dove is exhausted…” That lyric alone hits hard, a quiet call for assistance carried by the wind. The themes of burnout, exhaustion, and an urgent desire to persist pulse through every harmony and breath, with their voice flowing between sweeping crescendos and soft, aching silences.

      I’m on fire (fire)

Please free me from the restraints

      I’m losing all control now,

you act like you don’t see.

      I’m on fire (fire)

      This little dove is weary

I’m running low on hope now,

you act like you don’t see.

I’m on fire, fire, fire (I’m on fire), fire.

“’This Little Dove’ serves as the opening track for my debut album. This album delves into pain, growth, and self-awareness. Each song reflects experiences I’ve had to confront about myself and those around me until I realized I didn’t have to,” BODHI shares with Atwood Magazine.

“To set the tone for my album of self-discovery, I start from my lowest point. A period of total burnout and despair. Everything felt wrong; but why? As the lyrics suggest, I am letting myself be my own worst enemy. I allow this version of myself to dominate, when I know I can be and do better, surrounding myself with people who treat me poorly. The escalating instrumentation, harmonies, and volume symbolizes the inner turmoil felt within. This song conveys a message that resonates universally, and I hope to invite listeners to hear and heal with me throughout the remainder of the journey.”

That intention is palpable in every second of this track. The production is both enveloping and restrained, allowing each word to resonate like a profound truth. Their vocal delivery is ethereal – haunting, tender, and beautifully human. It’s the kind of song that not only reflects your own fatigue but provides a serene space to acknowledge it, honor it, and potentially begin healing from it.

My momma told me I run in my sleep

I’ve been running endlessly, waiting to forget

The land I cherish is young, wild, and free

I will write until I’m unbound, I’m alive until I’m unbound.

      I’m on fire (fire)

Please free me from the restraints

      I’m losing all control now,

you act like you don’t see.

      I’m on fire (fire)

      This little dove is weary

I’m running low on hope now,

you act like you don’t see.

Although BODHI is at the beginning of a new chapter, now signed with Nettwerk and preparing their debut project, their voice already carries the weight of experience and the promise of something remarkable. “This Little Dove” is a stunning introduction to an artist unafraid to confront the darkness – one who sings with the hope that we will collectively emerge from it stronger.

you act like you don’t see.
