Glastonbury Festival 2025: Artists to Keep an Eye On

It’s that time of year again: Glastonbury. Those attending can't stop discussing it, while those who aren’t are still frustrated by the chaotic ticket purchase process. Regardless of whether you experience it from the crowd or from your living room, the iconic festival consistently sparks vibrant discussions and features impressive lineups. This year marks the first time The 1975 will headline; Charli xcx will perform ‘Brat’ at the Other stage; there are fifty-six slots marked ‘TBA’; and Olivia Rodrigo has been upgraded from her 6:45pm slot on the Other stage to headline the Pyramid stage on Sunday night. Much of the BBC's coverage focuses on these popular artists, award winners, and chart-toppers, alongside rumors of surprise performances. However, the true essence of Glastonbury often lies in lesser-known acts.

With over three thousand performers slated for this year's festival, we've narrowed it down to five of the most thrilling up-and-coming artists you simply cannot miss.

      Getdown Services

West Country's party starters, known as ‘Britain’s best band,’ Getdown Services has experienced a rapid ascent over the past six months. A rigorous touring schedule and consistent releases have transformed them from Bristol cult favorites to genuine contenders for being one of the UK’s most exciting and unique bands. Mixing elements of Mike Skinner, T-Rex, and disco, their sound seems nonsensical on paper but makes perfect sense when experienced live. This year marks the duo’s Glastonbury debut, and tracks like ‘Dog Dribble’ and ‘Caesar’ are sure to ignite excitement at Worthy Farm.

      Sunday: 5:30pm at Croissant Neuf

      Melin Melyn

Few acts on this year’s lineup will offer as much psychedelic charm as the Welsh sextet Melin Melyn. Since their inception in 2019, they have crafted a vibrant universe that merges genuine real-life reflections with their music. Their debut album, ‘Mill On The Hill,’ set for release in 2025, is a sun-drenched fusion of folk-tinged psychedelia, presenting a blend that feels both retro and modern. With their coordinated outfits, exceptional musicianship, and infectious stage presence, Melin Melyn is well-suited to the spirit of Glastonbury.

      Sunday: 11:30am at The Park

      Sunday: 4:00pm at Strummerville

      Gurriers

The Irish band Gurriers has established themselves as a significant force in the current post-punk scene. Whether performing the energetic tune ‘Approachable,’ the shoegaze-infused ‘Come And See,’ or the gradual build-up of ‘Sign Of The Times,’ their live performances are intense, cleansing, and relentless. Their frequent shows alongside bands like Kneecap and Inhaler have honed their ability to deliver outstanding live experiences, promising chaos at both of their sets this weekend.

      Friday: 5:35pm at Left Field

      Sunday: 12:30pm at Woodsies

      John Glacier

John Glacier stands out among current rappers with a unique sound all her own. The London-based artist released her latest project ‘Like A Ribbon’ this year, receiving critical praise for its murky and intricate style. The album encompasses a diverse range of sounds and textures, such as electronica, garage rock, witch house, hyperpop, Jersey club, and hip-hop. Her approach to hip-hop, characterized by understated production and mellow flows, is bound to create an intimate atmosphere on the Park stage.

      Friday: 12:45pm at The Park

      —

      HiTech

This Detroit trio has been crafting ghettotech anthems for several years. Comprising King Milo, Milf Melly, and 47Chops, HiTech brings the classic elements of ghettotech—raunchy lyrics, amplified vocals, and high-energy rhythms—and infuses them with a modern twist. Their latest release, ‘HONEYPAQQ Vol.1,’ is fast-paced and unrelenting, with HiTech delivering nothing but party tracks. They will arrive at the farm on Thursday evening, ready to bring the Detroit vibe to Somerset.

Thursday: 6:00pm at The Lonely Hearts Club
