Griff Lynch and James Dean Bradfield collaborate on the new single ‘Same Old Show’.
Griff Lynch is a prominent Welsh artist, known for his distinctive recordings with the band Yr Ods. Now embarking on a solo journey, his upcoming album ‘Blas Melysa’r Mis’ marks his debut as a solo artist.
Set to be released on October 10th, the album weaves together intricate themes with a welcoming melodic charm, alternating between English and Welsh lyrics, allowing Griff to engage his audience effectively.
“It’s more about attitude than anything else,” Lynch shares. “Not to sound too much like a hippie, but it’s about the energy you invest in it.”
Thematically, ‘Blas Melysa’r Mis’ explores the journey of falling out of love with a location and embracing new beginnings, with this transitional theme reflecting in his creative songwriting.
The new single ‘Same Old Show’ is available now, featuring a wistful indie-folk style and guest vocals from James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers – marking the first instance of this music icon singing in Welsh.
“I sent him a link to the track and was surprised when he replied in Welsh; I didn’t even know he had learned the language,” Lynch explains. “For someone like him, a Welsh legend, to take the time to learn Welsh is significant for Welsh speakers. It leaves a positive, lasting impression on our culture, something James might not fully comprehend.”
Tune in now.
