Due to concerns regarding his vocal health...
Sam Fender has had to cancel several upcoming live performances.
This year has been significant for the North East artist, whose latest album 'People Watching' topped the charts. He has played numerous major shows, fully selling out both London Stadium and St James Park in his hometown of Newcastle multiple times.
However, the demanding schedule has taken a toll on his voice, and Sam Fender has been advised to take a short break.
In total, he has canceled performances at Rock Werchter (Belgium), Down The Rabbit Hole (the Netherlands), NOS Alive (Portugal), and Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland).
“This is really frustrating as I have been very cautious about my vocal health and this year has been the best of my career,” Sam Fender stated on social media. “I’ve been instructed to limit my vocal use and not sing for the next 14 days. Performing at these upcoming shows would risk causing permanent damage to my vocal cords.”
This isn't the first instance of vocal problems for Sam Fender—last year, he was forced to cancel a series of live shows after "haemorrhaging his right vocal cord," and his 2019 tour was canceled due to laryngitis.
