Catch them at Oslo in London this September.
London-based artist Joviale has just released their new single, ‘Let Me Down’, the third preview of their debut full-length album, ‘Mount Crystal’, set to be released on September 12th via Ghostly International.
In the sophisti-pop elegance of ‘Let Me Down’, Joviale channels the dramatic intensity of an opera singer expressing feelings of jealousy, pride, and anger. Regarding the introspective track, Joviale comments: “Desire can shift when pride gets involved.”
‘Let Me Down’ follows earlier singles, ‘Moonshine’ and ‘HARK!’, generating excitement ahead of the launch of ‘Mount Crystal’, which Joviale co-produced with John Carroll Kirby and Jkarri.
Drawing inspiration from the comedic musical brilliance of Prince’s 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon and the quirky surrealism of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Joviale initially envisioned the expansive ‘Mount Crystal’ as a murder mystery, hypothetically assigning roles to each collaborator as characters in the narrative. At its core, ‘Mount Crystal’ is a pop album, influenced by artists like Sade, Kate Bush, Janet Jackson, Todd Rundgren, and others.
Joviale has scheduled a headline show at Oslo in Hackney on September 25th. They will also take part in a series of in-store performances across the UK this September, as well as touring with Nourished By Time in the UK and EU in November.
Tune in now.
