Shame Introduces ‘Quiet Life,’ a New Rattler Inspired by Gun Club

In conjunction with a striking new video,

shame has released their latest single 'Quiet Life'.

The London indie band’s forthcoming album, 'Cutthroat', will be available on September 5th, featuring sessions managed by esteemed producer John Congleton.

The new track 'Quiet Life' embraces the band's admiration for raw American influences like The Gun Club, with hints of The Cramps as well. Filled with intense guitar riffs and trembling vocals, the song explores feelings of entrapment and the struggle to find freedom.

Vocalist Charlie Steen explains: "'Quiet Life' depicts someone caught in a bad relationship. It addresses the judgment they face and the challenges of reconciling the desire for a better life with the reality of being trapped."

Reflecting the band's dynamic live energy, the performance is highlighted by intense lyrics from Steen, who sings:

“Spent too much time on my knees. / Round here nothing’s good for me, / But I still can’t make the choice to leave.”

The video, directed by Pedro Takahashi, showcases shame alongside friends as they express their pent-up frustrations against a dilapidated office building.
