Watch Neil Young perform alongside Led Zeppelin.

      Yes, it truly occurred...

Neil Young’s incredible performance at BST Hyde Park in London this weekend led Clash to dive deep into an internet rabbit hole, where we discovered a rarely seen jam session featuring Led Zeppelin.

This session dates back to 1995, coinciding with Led Zeppelin's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In the weeks prior to the event, there was much speculation since the legendary rock band hadn’t played together since their heavily criticized performance at the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary concert in 1988.

If we exclude Led Zeppelin’s lackluster appearance at Live Aid – an event the band has since distanced themselves from – the induction occurred nearly 15 years after their last concert.

A compromise was reached – Led Zeppelin would perform with Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, on drums, with one set featuring Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and another with Neil Young.

With Young on stage, Led Zeppelin appeared to loosen up – they delivered a heavy rendition of “When The Levee Breaks,” with Neil Young shredding on guitar alongside Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham.

Could the Canadian-born musician be the catalyst for a Led Zeppelin reunion? According to Jimmy McDonough’s biography of Neil Young, titled "Shakey," he encouraged the band to continue, but it ultimately didn’t happen.

It seems that Led Zeppelin had a good time though – Robert Plant even sang part of “For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield, the 60s band that featured Neil Young.

Take a look back at the set below.
