Robert Plant has revealed details about his upcoming album ‘Saving Grace’.
A genuine legend in the music scene, Robert Plant led Led Zeppelin to extraordinary success before the band disbanded in 1980. His solo career has featured fascinating projects, including several Nashville-inspired recordings in the 21st century.
‘Saving Grace,’ however, takes a distinctly English approach. Forming a new group, the sessions for this album have taken about six years to develop, all from a setting in the English countryside.
Joining Robert Plant in Saving Grace are vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown, collaborating to create something unique from scratch.
He shares…
“We share a lot of laughs. I think that reflects who I am. I enjoy laughing. Honestly, I can’t find a reason to take things too seriously. I’m not cynical. The beauty of it all… These are wonderful people expressing so much they couldn’t before. They've developed their own styles, and together they’ve settled into an intriguing space.”
Interestingly, the album features a cover of Low’s beautiful ‘Everybody’s Song.’ The American band serves as a significant influence for the vocalist, who interprets the song from an intriguing perspective.
‘Saving Grace’ is set to be released on September 26th; you can pre-order it here.
