Emerging artist Anika Sloane has revealed her debut single “Wish You Made Me Hate You,” accompanied by a music video that marks her strong entrance into the music world.
Produced by Adam Castilla at Brick Mansion Recordings, the track highlights Sloane’s distinctive vocal ability and emotional depth, featuring an intriguing blend of upbeat production and somber undertones, supported by ethereal synths that enhance her dynamic vocal delivery.
“This song originates from a very genuine place,” Sloane explains. “It reflects that peculiar in-between state when someone is no longer in your life, and there’s no one to hold accountable. If there were, letting go would be simpler. Anger offers something to grasp. But sometimes, what remains is simply the reality of the situation. I believe many people can relate to this.”
Sloane’s path to music is as captivating as her sound. Once a competitive soccer player whose career was interrupted by a torn ACL, she returned to her first passion: singing. Influenced by her Danish and Native American heritage and her classical training in opera and choir, Sloane has developed a sound that beautifully fuses raw intensity with refined control.
Producer Adam Castilla notes, “Anika’s voice possesses an extraordinary range that enabled us to create something sonically distinctive.”
