The new album ‘Essex Honey’ by Blood Orange will be released on August 29th.
Earlier this year, Charli XCX performed at Primavera Sound, concluding her set by mentioning friends and collaborators, replacing ‘Brat’ summer with their names.
Among them, one name stood out: ‘Blood Orange Summer’.
It seems that Charli was right—Blood Orange is returning, and the England-born, New York-based songwriter is creating some of his finest work.
The album ‘Essex Honey’ is due out on August 29th, with the artist—whose real name is Dev Hynes—bringing together a diverse group of collaborators. The lineup includes notable names like Lorde, Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, Brendan Yates from Turnstile, Tariq Al-Sabir, author Zadie Smith—who contributes vocals for the first time—Ian Isiah, Tirzah, Eva Tolkin, The Durutti Column, Wet’s Kelly Zutrau, actors Naomi Scott and Amandla Stenberg, and Liam Benzvi.
In addition, Blood Orange has released two new tracks. ‘Mind Loaded’ features the talented Mustafa, alongside Lorde, with whom Dev Hynes has previously collaborated, and the unmistakable voice of Caroline Polachek.
Conversely, ‘Somewhere In Between’ focuses solely on Blood Orange, showcasing a rich and vibrant display of his creative talent.
Stay tuned for more updates.
