Daniel Avery has announced the upcoming release of his new album, ‘Tremor.’
The producer is regarded as one of the most intriguing personalities in UK electronic music, with his 2013 debut ‘Drone Logic’ recognized as a contemporary classic.
His 2022 project ‘Ultra Truth’, followed by ‘More Truth’ the next year, showcased Daniel Avery’s broadened musical range, blending industrial and shoegaze elements with his love for club music.
Now signed to the esteemed label Domino, his new album ‘Tremor’ showcases his enthusiasm for collaborative music creation.
Set to release on October 31st, the album features a diverse array of guest artists, including Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Walter Schreifels (Quicksand / Rival Schools), bdrmm, Julie Dawson (NewDad), yeule, Ellie, Art School Girlfriend, yunè pinku, and Cecile Believe.
“This is a living and breathing collective,” Avery expresses. “From the earliest recordings, ‘Tremor’ has felt like a studio in the sky, a moment in time through which we could all pass as artists.”
“It embodies the welcoming essence of acid house, with doors wide open to embrace every influence from my musical journey: the warmth of distortion, the tranquility within intensity, and the transcendent beauty of noise… These elements have always existed in my music, but now they feel like they are presented in vivid color. This record is for the post-rave comedown crowd, the guitar enthusiasts, and anyone else who wishes to join the experience. All are welcome.”
The album will be complemented by a specially curated live performance, concluding at London’s renowned art venue, the Barbican, on November 8th.
The new single ‘Rapture In Blue’ is impressive; its gritty digital sounds are anchored by a slowed down breakbeat, reminiscent of the sand-in-your-joints programming found in Tricky’s ‘Maxinquaye’.
Cecile Believe’s emotive vocals resonate deeply, while the psychedelic-inflected guitars are crafted by Ride legend and current Oasis member Andy Bell.
