Demae makes her return with her latest singles, ‘Steppers’ and ‘Closer’.
The UK alt-soul artist is enjoying a remarkable year, releasing a series of exceptional singles. Collaborating with Jorja Smith’s FAMM label, Demae has organized a dual release.
Now available, ‘Steppers’ was crafted by Erik Bodin of Little Dragon in Gothenburg, focusing on Demae’s intensely personal and physical connection with music.
In addition, ‘Closer’ explores her creative journey—a reflection on the process of shaping soul music. Together, these tracks mark another phase in this thriving time for the London artist.
She shares her thoughts…
I’m really thrilled about this double release!
‘Steppers’ represents a dialogue between the listener and sound. It highlights how music allows you to let go of stress and rejuvenates you, showcasing how much more impactful sound can be when we experience it collectively and engage with it physically!
‘Closer’ delves into the songwriting process. It’s about the bond you establish with the music and how a song resonates with you. It captivates me and makes me want to remain ‘close’ to the sound.
