Following the release of their highly anticipated album 'The Clearing,' Wolf Alice has unveiled an engaging video for the standout track 'Just Two Girls'—a song that celebrates the unique bond between best friends. This vibrant tribute to female friendship highlights the joy of being truly understood by your closest companion, as Ellie Rowsell and actress Lucy Boynton elevate their girls’ night, enjoying the fun and freedom that comes with each other's presence. Regarding the inspiration behind the song, Ellie shared, “I was motivated by having dinner with friends—individual outings with different friends. I realized how often I was saying, ‘Oh my god, yes, you're so right!’ and it struck me how validating these conversations with my girlfriends can be, and how much I learn from them.” She continued to reflect, “I've been trying to understand a lot of things about growing older. It's been a peculiar time contemplating appearance, and those are the kinds of discussions I have with my friends that make me feel better. I thought this experience deserved a song.” Aside from attaining commercial success and reaching Number One in the UK, 'The Clearing' has also placed Wolf Alice on the shortlist for the 2025 Mercury Prize (which they previously won in 2018 for 'Visions Of A Life'), alongside artists like Fontaines DC, Sam Fender, and FKA twigs. The winner will be announced at the upcoming ceremony in Newcastle on October 16, so stay tuned!
