Gorillaz announce their ninth album titled ‘The Mountain’ featuring a new collaboration with Sparks called ‘The Happy Dictator.’

      Coming soon

The band has also announced plans for a tour in 2026, which will include their inaugural stadium performance in London.

Fresh off a series of four special commemorative shows, Gorillaz return with the announcement that their upcoming album, ‘The Mountain’, is set to be released on March 20, 2026, through their newly-established label, KONG. This album will serve as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Cracker Island’ and marks the ninth LP from the innovative digital band created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. ‘The Mountain’ aims to reflect Gorillaz’s broad collaborative spirit, featuring artists such as Johnny Marr, IDLES, and Jalen Ngonda on various tracks. In a touching tribute, the album will also include contributions from late friends and musicians, such as Bobby Womack, Mark E Smith, and Tony Allen. It was recorded in locations including London, Devon, India, Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, incorporating five languages—Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. Conceptually, it depicts the band in Mumbai, opting for enigmatic landscapes and diverse musical terrains over fame. “As space dust, we are here forever, and that’s a mighty long time,” remarked drummer Russel Hobbs. “This is a musical meditation infused with light. A journey of the soul, with beats…” Discover more about ‘The Mountain’ and listen to its lead single 'The Happy Dictator,' featuring Sparks, below.
