A comprehensive electronic album...
Manchester musician Robin Richards has released his solo album ‘Taproots’ in its entirety.
The composer is likely best recognized for his involvement with Dutch Uncles, an art-pop band that has received significant acclaim over a decade-long career.
Reflecting inward, ‘Taproots’ shifts his focus to a unique electronic sound, drawing comparisons to Djrum, Flying Lotus, and London-based Hinako Omori.
Now available on PRAH Recordings, ‘Taproots’ explores themes of fatherhood, self-doubt, the necessity of genuine change in our lives, and intriguingly, a series of conceptual pieces centered on the life cycle of trees.
While Robin Richards is the main artist, he collaborates with several guests, including pianist Chris Illingworth (of the Mercury Prize-nominated GoGo Penguin), flautist Ellen Beth Abdi, and others.
Produced by Brendan Williams, you can listen to this intriguing release below.
