"It's about yearning for a past that never genuinely existed, a period that never happened..."

London-based artist Nico Cann continues to solidify his pop-rock credentials with his latest single, ‘Lose My Mind’.
Created in collaboration with longtime partner Thomas Mitchener, ‘Lose My Mind’ was developed in Milan in January 2023. Charged with a coming-of-age angst, the song was influenced in part by Henley and Bruce Hornsby’s ‘The End of Innocence,’ which is one of Nico’s favorite tracks, and loosely inspired by The Catcher in the Rye.
Underpinned by a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 riff and a powerful guitar crescendo from close friend Nicholas Richards, Nico Cann’s resonant voice reflects the rawness of Bruce Springsteen, the nighttime melancholy of Jack Antonoff, and the blues rock sorrow of Sam Fender.
“At its core, the song contemplates the recollection of a childhood love—a period of innocence, instinct, and unfiltered feelings before the burdens of adulthood emerged,” Nico states. “It’s about longing for a past that never truly existed—a time that never was.”
“The song draws inspiration from the spirit of freedom and creativity that characterized the 1980s,” Nico adds. “I felt that those ideals—hope, inventiveness, and a sense of possibility—are increasingly fading today, and I wanted to capture and celebrate them through music.”
A rock music enthusiast, Nico recorded his debut single ‘Runnin’ in the Rain’ at Abbey Road Studios, followed by ‘Light Over the Ridge,’ which was released earlier this year.
Nico has performed at many shows, including a sold-out headlining event with his band, The Air Traffic, in his native Milan. With his upcoming performance in London scheduled for October 24th, the artist is ready to captivate even more listeners.
