The Oslo-based artist is set to perform in London and Manchester during her European tour.
Sassy 009 has unveiled her latest single, ‘Tell Me’.
The alter ego of Sunniva Lindgård, Sassy 009 offers another glimpse of her forthcoming album, ‘Dreamer+’, which will be released on January 16th through HEAVEN-SENT/PIAS.
The Oslo artist creates a cult-like, hypnotic atmosphere, characterized by minimal instrumentals and soft vocals from the renowned Blood Orange. Influences of Just Mustard or Portishead’s Beth Gibbons can be sensed here; the vocals are gritty and distorted, echoing the ‘90s sound.
Regarding the single, Lindgård shares: “I held onto this song for a few years. It began with a specific mood, but I couldn’t seem to finalize it. I then thought of sending it to Dev.”
“I’ve been anticipating the chance for us to collaborate since we met in Amsterdam in 2019, and I truly couldn’t imagine anyone else on this track. I’m thrilled I listened to my instincts.”
Despite Sassy 009 gaining early recognition as a trio in 2017 with the ‘Do You Mind’ EP, this upcoming album marks a genuine debut for Lindgård.
Rebranding as a solo artist in 2019, the album has taken years to develop in the studio and reflects themes of identity, memory, and the changing nature of self.
In conjunction with the single, Lindgård has announced her first official European tour, which will include performances in London, Manchester, Paris, Berlin, and a major show in her hometown at Oslo’s famed Blå club. Tickets are available here.
