Sleaford Mods have announced that their upcoming album will be titled ‘The Demise Of Planet X,’ set to release on 16th January 2026 via Rough Trade. This will be the follow-up to 2023’s ‘UK GRIM,’ and the new LP is expected to be their most ambitious work yet, featuring collaborations with various artists such as Sue Tompkins from Life Without Buildings, Aldous Harding, and local Nottingham talents Liam Bailey and MC Snowy. Prior to the album’s release, they will collaborate with Big Special from the Black Country and actress Gwendoline Christie, making her musical debut after roles in series like Game of Thrones and Wednesday, for the lead single ‘The Good Life.’ Vocalist Jason Williamson explained, “When we created the last album, it reflected a sense of stagnation in a country that felt like a lifeless corpse. Three years later, that corpse has been opened up by war, genocide, and the ongoing psychological effects of Covid, as social media has transformed into a grotesque, twisted version of digital manipulation. It feels as though we are living amidst the ruins—an intricate abomination imprinted into our shared consciousness.” Watch the video for ‘The Good Life,’ directed by Ben Wheatley, and take a look at the complete tracklist for the album below.
