Anglo-Greek artist D3LTA is back with a powerful new single, ‘Kids’.
The track offers a perspective on our disregard for real-world crises, juxtaposing feelings of hopelessness and indifference against a classic alt-rock backdrop; think of influences like David Bowie, Sam Fender, and Declan McKenna.
D3LTA promotes community and connection, even as the lyrics convey a sense of foreboding and confusion.
“The refrain ‘The kids will be alright’ is not meant to comfort; rather, it serves as a chilling mantra of denial, a falsehood we tell ourselves while the world is in turmoil,” explains D3LTA.
“What weighs heaviest is the realization that children growing up in conflict zones such as Gaza and elsewhere bear no responsibility for their situations. They were simply born into circumstances beyond their control, and it feels like we are passively doing insufficiently to change this.”
With the backing of esteemed collaborators Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) and Max Wolfgang (Laufey, BLACKPINK), D3LTA has honed his anthemic style while also broadening his live presence, having opened for Scouting for Girls and toured with JC Stewart in Europe earlier this year.
With follow-up singles ‘Animals’ and ‘Mad About It’ set to release in the coming months, along with a debut album on the way, D3LTA is establishing himself as one of the most captivating new voices in alt-rock.
