Caroline released seven new tracks in the 'Caroline 2 Deluxe' edition.

The London-based octet caroline has released ‘caroline 2 deluxe,’ an enhanced version of their semi-self-titled second album, which originally debuted in May. This edition includes seven new tracks that the band has referred to as “early iterations of the songs released on ‘caroline 2.’” The band expressed, “We have always appreciated the quality of recordings made on phones and portable mics: the casual and informal feel they provide, and how they tend to capture a more playful and exploratory approach during that essential writing phase, before a song solidifies into its final form. There's an element of mystery in these recordings that is unrepeatable and unreplicable.” Along with the demos for ‘When I get home’ and ‘Song two,’ the last track on this release, ‘greek2go,’ is also a phone recording. It was captured in what used to be an empty shell of a former Greek dark kitchen, which has now turned into their studio, featuring an improvisation with three guitars and vocals in a spacious, reverberant room. Although it didn’t make it onto the album, it’s a musical piece the band takes great pride in. Below, you can find the complete tracklist for ‘caroline 2 deluxe’ and check out the band's new live video for ‘Two riders down.’

      ‘caroline 2 deluxe’ tracklist:

      1. _you never really get that far_ (Coldplay cover)

      2. if you let them i’ll let them

      3. U R UR ONLY ACHING (demo)

      4. When I get home (demo)

      5. Before you get home from the club bathroom

Hen Ogledd will unveil their new album ‘DISCOMBOBULATED’ on February 20th.

This quartet brings together talented artists from various backgrounds, with Dawn Bothwell, Rhodri Davies, Richard Dawson, and Sally Pilkington collaborating in a freeform yet cohesive manner.

The new album has emerged, with sessions for ‘DISCOMBOBULATED’ recorded alongside producer Sam Grant at Blank Studios in Newcastle.

Scheduled for release on February 20th through Weird World, Hen Ogledd – derived from the Welsh phrase for ‘The Old North’ – seems to create something greater than merely the sum of its individual components. “There’s something about Hen Ogledd that’s not like a typical band,” remarks Richard Dawson. “It’s something… different.”

The new track ‘Scales will fall’ is captivating – a highly organic song that skillfully navigates the edges of folk, post-punk, and post-rock, while resisting confinement to any specific genre.

Referencing the Durham Miner’s Gala before evolving into a horn-infused rhythm, ‘Scales will fall’ genuinely takes listeners on an adventure.

“Perhaps Hen Ogledd is more like a family than a band,” shares Sally Pilkington. “There’s something quite special about incorporating children’s voices into the music.”

Listen to ‘Scales will fall’ below.

Tracklisting:
1. Nell’s prologue
2. Scales will fall
3. Dead in a post-truth world
