Jess Ball has released her latest single, ‘Please Don’t Hate Me For This’.
This revealing track from the Australian singer-songwriter delves into personal themes. Exploring the intricacies of romance, she shares her thoughts through a light, stripped-down performance that blends pop, indie, and rock influences.
Since starting her artistic journey at the age of eleven, Jess Ball has consistently progressed. The past year has been significant, with the release of her debut EP ‘Where You Go,’ which showcased her talents as a thoughtful and relatable lyricist.
As she begins a new chapter in her career, ‘Please Don’t Hate Me For This’ introduces Jess Ball to a new audience.
Discussing the song, she explains: “I wrote this track about the moments when we say things we don’t really mean—words that escape in the heat of anger after holding in too much for too long. It addresses the accumulation of unexpressed frustrations and emotions that eventually explode, often causing pain to those closest to us.” She adds, “Ultimately, the song is an apology to those who have endured the impact of my outbursts during times of burnout and overstimulation. My reactions do not reflect them, but rather my difficulty in dealing with issues as they arise, instead of allowing them to simmer and transform into sudden, intense outbursts.”
