Irish rapper Rejjie Snow has released his new single 'Hypnotic Pickpocket,' a collaboration with British-Japanese artist Miso Extra.
This track stems from an organic connection that formed when Miso supported Rejjie during his recent tour. It transforms the shock of a real-life pickpocket encounter into a dreamy alt-pop piece, combining elements of trauma response, revelation, and surreal experience.
Regarding the song, Rejjie notes: “The track reflects the moment I was pickpocketed—the fleeting shock that evolved into a trance-like state. I found myself oddly mesmerized by the individual who committed the act, almost in a sense of wonder. Later, I had several dreams where I relived the event, caught in a blend of intrigue and discomfort.”
Miso adds, “After the amazing experience of supporting Rejjie on tour last year, I collaborated with producer harrry this summer while he was producing this track with Rejjie. From the instant I heard the concept, I was completely drawn in and felt compelled to contribute my verse to this ethereal, sun-drenched record created during a Parisian summer.”
This collaboration marks Rejjie's first release since his third studio album, ‘PEACE 2 DA WORLD,’ which intertwined the rapper’s backstory with an innovative, transnational outlook.
Rejjie is currently touring with Loyle Carner, with two shows in Birmingham tonight and tomorrow, followed by three in Manchester.
