Tems unexpectedly drops new EP titled 'Love Is A Kingdom'

"Love is not merely an emotion, but a transformative experience..."

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has unexpectedly released a new seven-track EP titled ‘Love Is A Kingdom’, which is available through Since ‘93/RCA Records.

Primarily produced by Tems, with additional work from her regular collaborators GuiltyBeatz, AOD, and LONDON, this transitional EP delves into the multifaceted aspects of love, including power, pain, surrender, and self-discovery.

Combining vibrant Afrobeats with subdued RnB soundscapes, Tems opens the EP with the self-love anthem ‘First’. The enchanting melodies and atmospheric quality of ‘I’m Not Sure’ capture the essence of her romantic uncertainty.

In ‘Mine’, Tems showcases her strength as a lover, captivating her romantic interest with her divine presence. The final track, ‘Is There A Reason’, co-created with LA producer V-Ron, offers a poignant moment of reflective introspection over minimal acoustic instrumentation.

This release comes after Tems’ debut album ‘Born In The Wild’, which was launched in June 2024. Although she has not released new solo music in a year, Tems headlined the inaugural halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup alongside J Balvin and Doja Cat, featured on Justin Bieber’s ‘SWAG II’, supported Coldplay at Wembley, and initiated a women-in-music initiative now being implemented in Nigeria and Kenya.
