Sheffield singer-songwriter Mat Hook has unveiled his latest single, 'This Feeling'.
Previously the frontman of the cult Sheffield band Kartica, Mat has built a dedicated following in his hometown and throughout the country. The band, known for their dynamic live performances, disbanded in 2014, prompting Mat to take some time to establish himself as a solo artist.
Now back on the scene, Mat Hook is working his way back up, inspired by the opportunities that true independence presents.
Having signed with Sheffield label Forgemaster Records, Mat plans to showcase new material with a prominent appearance at EchoSound events' indie festival next year in Sheffield.
The new single 'This Feeling' captures his essential ethos – a vibrant, uplifting indie rock anthem that echoes influences from The Stone Roses and the 'Definitely Maybe' era of Oasis.
It pays homage to his powerful live sound, while the production remains unpolished, allowing the energy to burst forth.
