DIIV will be releasing an experimental concert film and live album titled ‘Boiled Alive’ later this week.

The shoegaze band based in LA released their dark new piece ‘Frog In Boiling Water’ last year and subsequently embarked on an impressive series of live performances.

Earlier this year, the group performed for three nights at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, with director Jaxon Whittington taking on the task of creating the experimental concert film.

Set to be released this Friday (December 5th), the new film ‘Boiled Alive’ will come with a complete live album, available in both digital and physical formats, including CD and cassette.

“As a band, we’ve always thrived in a live concert setting,” the band states. “We are equally invested in the quality of our shows as we are in our albums. Filming the Frog set seemed like a way to make our live performance more accessible to everyone and an opportunity to further expand the album's universe. We hope you enjoy what we’ve created.”

Director Jaxon Whittington comments: “After just one meeting at DIIV’s studio, I felt incredibly inspired by how they presented this project to me and knew I would love collaborating with them. The band had already established such a captivating and intricate world around the album, which I found fascinating, making it easy to build on. I believe this could not have been produced with any other group of individuals at any other time.”
