Ye Vagabonds Reveal Upcoming Album ‘All Tied Together’

Ye Vagabonds will be releasing their new album ‘All Tied Together’ on January 30th.

The Irish band recently hinted at their return with the track ‘On Sitric Road,’ which was released with a live video filmed in Dublin. Their new album was recorded entirely live in a house in Galway with producer Philip Weinrobe (Big Thief, Adrienne Lenker).

Scheduled for release on January 30th through River Lea Recordings, the new single ‘The Flood’ reflects Ye Vagabonds' humble beginnings within a squatters’ community in Dublin.

This track features contributions from Shahzad Ismaily and fellow River Lea artist Sam Amidon, and it captures an exhilarating, spontaneous energy.

The complete video for the song was directed by Ellius Grace, known for his work with Lankum, Lisa O’Neill, and Junior Brother. He shared his thoughts:

When Brían and Diarmuid reached out to create music videos for their new album, I couldn't resist. Their music is so moving and beautiful, and this album feels deeply personal to them. It was an extra treat to find out they were collaborating with dancer Jimmy Southward, whose performances I've enjoyed before. This culminated in a wonderful collaboration among the four of us, where we took Brían and Diarmuid’s concepts and turned them into fluid narratives, brought to life by Jimmy's dance. They also aimed to shoot these videos in a single take to evoke a sense of immediacy and realism. This proved to be a significant challenge as the crew and I had to coordinate ourselves with Jimmy to ensure everything came together seamlessly.

‘The Flood’ addresses the housing crisis and the hardships of urban living, where survival can feel daunting. In the video, Jimmy portrays a businessman with a seemingly successful career, yet he is still living in a tent in Phoenix Park. He goes about his day, smiling and greeting people, but as he moves, something stirs within him. His body begins to convulse, and he gradually loses control. The briefcase he carries is filled with random items, which he eventually discards, along with his phone, shedding the façade of a content worker and embracing freedom. As he succumbs to the movement and apparent chaos, his happiness grows, freeing him from the need to maintain a pretense.

      Tune in now.
