GUV Is Pursuing Love With His Latest Single "Chasin' Luv"

A quick burst of jangle pop...

Canadian artist GUV has released a new single titled ‘Chasin’ Luv’.

Previously a member of Fucked Up, the songwriter has since embarked on a solo journey to create a diverse catalog. GUV will be releasing his new album ‘Warmer Than Gold’ on January 30th through Run For Cover Records.

The album features some fantastic collaborators, including Meg Mills from Turnstile, Hatchie, and others, showcasing GUV’s melodic tendencies while still retaining the punk vigor of his origins.

Now available, ‘Chasin’ Luv’ captures the essence of jangle pop, aiming for a melodic charm intertwined with a DIY aesthetic.

Written in under thirty minutes, ‘Chasin’ Luv’ reflects an outpouring of emotion. He shares…

“‘Chasin Luv’ was the final track composed for the album. We wanted something that felt immediate, an instant hit reminiscent of early Primal Scream, to introduce the jangle element that had been absent from the record but was always a part of earlier GUV projects. Noah, Gavel, Matt, and I wrote and recorded it in about 20 minutes. Corey Rose from Color Green came in and recorded her drum parts in one take. After everyone left, I quickly worked out the vocals. Everything in this song is done in one take, and the entire process of writing and recording took under an hour. This is my favorite track and the best GUV song ever made.”
