Il musicista con sede a Manchester è un elemento chiave dei Dutch Uncles, ma questa settembre vorrà andare da solo con un album inedito.
Il prossimo album si intitola "Taproots" ed è di tono elettronico – pensa a OPN, Flying Lotus, e agli equivalenti britannici come Matthew Herbert.
In uscita il 19 settembre via PRAH Recordings, il record affascinante è guidato dalla nuova canzone "Ossia", che affronta le molteplici implicazioni di un termine musicale italiano.
Iniziando con un basso convenzionale, Wurlitzer e batteria, si dissolve in una fusione di distorsione sintetica e breakbeat – più qualche chitarra preparata (suonata con clips di coccodrillo sulle corde).
Come extra: il visualizer utilizza il font "Oasis" per "Ossia". Vedi cosa hanno fatto lì?

"Ossia è il termine musicale italiano per 'alternativamente' e i cambiamenti di dinamica all'interno del brano rappresentano i dialoghi interni che ho quando faccio scelte nella vita. La conversazione in corso tra il basso e il synth del basso riflette il bombardamento di consigli spesso contraddittori online: sulla salute, sulla nutrizione, sul benessere, sulla genitorialità... sulla quasi totalità delle cose, in realtà."
