Eddie Chacon has released his new album ‘Lay Low’ in its entirety.
The American musician has crafted a unique body of work across various projects, showcasing a voice deeply rooted in immaculate R&B while also seeking personal expression. Now signed to the esteemed independent label Stones Throw, the new album ‘Lay Low’ connects Eddie Chacon with long-time CLASH favorite Nick Hakim.
Infusing his sound with a fresh perspective, the tracks on ‘Lay Low’ were born from a period of mourning – stories of healing and remembrance, featuring contributions from talented folk artist John Carroll Kirby and Nick Hakim himself.
In a conversation with MOJO about ‘Lay Low,’ Eddie shared…
“I finally felt ready to create a record reflecting the grief of losing my mother, the sorrow, melancholy, and ultimately the healing process. My mom passed away nine years ago, but the weight of that loss was so overwhelming that I couldn’t fully comprehend it or weave it into my art. However, collaborating with Nick allowed me to access the joyful memories and happy moments.”
