NYC band Momma has announced the release of their third album, 'Welcome To My Blue Sky', scheduled for April 4th via Lucky Number. They made a strong return last year with the preview single 'Ohio All The Time'. This new LP serves as a follow-up to their 2022 release, 'Household Name', and as vocalist/guitarist Allegra Weingarten mentioned, the band is “less focused on sounding cool and heavy and rock & roll, and more on good, clean songwriting that hopefully encourages people to sing along and truly connect with the lyrics.” Drawing inspiration from a time of significant change, 'Welcome To My Blue Sky' has been further highlighted by the new track ‘I Want You (Fever)’—a catchy, ’90s-inspired song that delves into the frustration of desire for those who are emotionally (or literally) unavailable. The band elaborated, “It’s about yearning for someone, but also feeling a sense of confidence knowing that person wants to be with you. The moment we wrote that song, we felt like we were entering a new era—we discarded everything we'd previously written for the album because it felt so new and thrilling.” You can listen to ‘I Want You (Fever)’ yourself and check out DIY’s 2022 interview with Momma below.
