The Great Escape has announced that the renowned Libertine, Pete Doherty, will be joining the Brighton festival in May for a special Spotlight Show. He will perform alongside Warmduscher and Trampolene as part of a showcase from Strap Originals, Doherty’s independent label. This marks the second Spotlight Show announced by TGE, following the news that Rizzle Kicks will also be bringing beachside excitement this year. Both events will require separate tickets outside of the main festival. Additionally, TGE has revealed a significant number of new acts for its 2025 lineup, which includes former DIY In Deep cover star Lynks, London art-rockers Man/Woman/Chainsaw, and Manchester buzz band Westside Cowboy, among many others. This year’s festival will feature an impressive four full days of music for the first time, with venues across the city opening their doors starting Wednesday, May 14th. Furthermore, The Road To The Great Escape, TGE’s annual showcase events leading up to the main weekend, will return enthusiastically, taking place at Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s on May 9th and 10th, and Dublin’s Whelan’s on May 12th and 13th, to generate excitement and promote the 2025 performers. Slated for May 14th-17th, The Great Escape 2025 will feature over 450 exciting new artists across more than 35 venues in Brighton.
