Lucius has announced details for their upcoming self-titled album.
The band relies on the extraordinary talents of songwriters Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe, who have collaborated with some renowned artists in the industry. Their most intimate and impactful ideas for Lucius come together in this self-titled album, aligning their unique vision with several key collaborators.
Set to release on May 2nd through Fantasy Records, the album's tracklist features notable contributions from Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs (‘Old Tape’), Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes (‘Stranger Danger’), Madison Cunningham (‘Impressions’), and Ethan Gruska (‘Impressions’).
Recorded at Altamira Sound in Los Angeles and in Molad's home studio, the band reflects on the album…
“Our fourth studio album represents the four of us, echoing the beginnings of our recording journey together. It’s raw, honest, and feels like returning to our roots; something that resonates profoundly at this stage of our lives. We’ve found a sense of home in many ways; over the past few years, we’ve begun to establish roots, discover life partners, build families, and nurture gardens.
We adopted dogs (which you might catch in the background if you listen closely). We composed songs about life and relationships. Recording took place in our home studios. Throughout the process, we witnessed the rise and fall of life cycles, reflecting the beauty and delicacy of the human experience. Thus, it feels appropriate for this album to be self-titled; it tells our story, encompassing who we are now and how we arrived here. Welcome to our living room.”
The new single ‘Gold Rush’ serves as a tribute to “the irresistible allure of love”—featuring a vintage songwriting style infused with a strong sense of melody. You can listen to it below.
