pencil presents a subtle tribute titled ‘Sparkling Water’.

      London-based five-piece Pencil have released their latest single, ‘Sparkling Water’, on December 2, 2025.

      The band is part of a new wave of vitality in the city's music scene, with a multitude of groups emerging from spots like the Brixton Windmill and the George Tavern. Each is making its mark, more connected by a spirit of independence than by any common musical style.

      Earlier this month, CLASH saw Pencil perform live while supporting Our Girl at the Dome in North London, and it was an intriguing set – filled with tension and release, the five-piece delivered an effortless subtlety that made a lasting impression.

      Now out via State51, the new single ‘Sparkling Water’ features a tangle of guitar bursts, a tightly wound melody that seems ready to unravel with each chord progression.
