The underground act fakemink has released a new single titled ‘Easter Pink’.

This mysterious artist remains incredibly productive, dropping around 50 tracks in 2024 – that’s one song per week, an overwhelming surge of creativity that mixes vibrant club electronics, retro-futuristic themes, and a multitude of inside jokes.

Entitling his latest album ‘London’s Saviour’ likely hints at the pompous attitude involved – there’s a resemblance to Dean Blunt in his ability to provoke, yet fakemink consistently enriches his work with exceptional pop concepts.

Take a listen to ‘Easter Pink’. This lively digital composition takes inspiration from the blog era, transitioning through 00s indie-disco influences – reminiscent of Soulwax remixes and Kitsune Maison compilations – into cloud rap, all executed with a flair and style that avoids descending into a sleazy throwback.

Rather, it showcases 87 seconds of raw charisma – the flows exude London vibes, and there’s a universal, tongue-in-cheek arrogance that energizes ‘Easter Pink’, which he describes as “luxury and dirty.”

The video, shot by Nategotsis, unfolds like a Pinterest board from 2009, heavily influenced by vintage American Apparel advertisements – one must admire the dedication to this aesthetic.
