The Nashville duo collaborates with Tobe Nwigwe on their standout track, 'Dopamine'...
Johnnyswim has made a strong return with their latest album, ‘When The War Is Over’.
This album reflects their emotional growth and ability to overcome challenges, showcasing their most personal work yet. Through a crisp and concise tracklist, Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez highlight their theatrical performances, captivating their audiences with intertwining melodies and a rustic sound. The song ‘Dopamine’, featuring the talented hip-hop artist Tobe Nwigwe, delivers an uplifting experience throughout.
Two decades into their journey, the LA-based duo has developed a distinct live performance, emphasizing the acoustic elements of their music. After recently appearing on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, Johnnyswim is bringing their new material to various audiences, with upcoming shows planned in Texas, London, Amsterdam, and other locations.
Reflecting on their fifth full-length release, the duo shares: “This album originated from one of the toughest periods of our lives. ‘When The War Is Over’ felt like the perfect title because, for a long time, we felt like we were in a battle—physically, emotionally, and mentally. We composed these songs while dealing with health issues, going through therapy, and really allowing ourselves to feel our emotions rather than avoiding them. We aimed for this album to resonate with the same honesty as the lyrics, recording it the traditional way—living, in a room with our favorite musicians, discovering the songs as we performed them. Every instrument has its presence, and every sound is genuine and vibrant.”
