Daniel Avery, Ghost Culture, and Syd Minsky Sergeant from Working Men’s Club have teamed up for a new project called Demise Of Love.
The three artists have been acquainted for a while; Daniel Avery and Ghost Culture previously worked together in a record shop and have collaborated before. Sharing a mutual appreciation for Syd Minsky Sergeant's work, they came together in the studio last year to explore new ideas.
Their collective vision quickly came together, steering the music in a different direction compared to their earlier projects. A self-titled EP is set to be released on May 30th through Domino, with Daniel Avery describing it as “Three distinct sonic identities merging to forge something completely new, a quest for a radiant light that can only be found among the trio.”
The expansive studio sessions have produced a four-track EP, with Alan Moulder handling the final mix and Trevor Jackson crafting the artwork.
Available for pre-order now, Demise Of Love has released their first single “Strange Little Consequence.”
Featuring dark electronics paired with a melodic flair, it draws comparisons to some of Depeche Mode’s iconic tracks and even Nine Inch Nails; there's a rock crunch and an industrial edge to the production, while still remaining connected to elements of club culture.
A focused and intense piece of songwriting, “Strange Little Consequence” is accompanied by a video directed by Jak Payne, who elaborates: “We aimed to produce something visually striking that reflects the disintegration of a relationship, amidst the clutter and remnants left behind.”
Demise Of Love will celebrate the EP with three launch events: they will perform at YES in Manchester on March 30th, Silencio in Paris on April 11th, and The Glove That Fits in London on May 29th.
