English songwriter Lucy Rose is back with her new single ‘Pale Blue Eyes.’
Last year, she released a powerful album titled ‘This Ain’t The Way You Go Out,’ which explored themes of illness, trauma, and healing. Her most candid and emotive work so far, the album showcased Lucy’s skilled melodic approach and confident songwriting.
Available now, ‘Pale Blue Eyes’ continues her musical journey. The song reflects on motherhood and its redemptive aspects, featuring piano chords that possess a jazz-like flexibility.
The recording is elegantly simple, consisting of a trio arrangement with piano, drums, and bass, recorded at Paul Weller’s studios in Surrey.
Lucy Rose shared her thoughts:
“The song was challenging; it took me some time to determine what I wanted to express. The chorus is dedicated to that one person who helped me maintain my self-belief during my lowest moments—my little boy. While I felt my body was failing and no one seemed to believe me, his love for me remained unwavering.”
Tune in now.
