The British metal band Employed To Serve has unveiled their latest single, which is also the title track of their upcoming album, ‘Fallen Star’. This new release comes after the announcement last month regarding the launch of their fifth album on April 25th via Spinefarm Records. It marks the second track to be released from ‘Fallen Star’, following the powerful lead single, ‘Atonement’, which featured deathcore artist Will Ramos.
Regarding this new single, the band's vocalist Justine Jones commented: “’Fallen Star’ is about witnessing the burnout of someone close. It can be heartbreaking to see someone you care about fly too close to the sun without learning from it. Sometimes, you must step back and love them from a distance. We decided it should be the title track because it thematically reflects the lyrics of the new album, focusing on breaking bad habits and tackling life's challenges.” They have also released a video directed by David Brodsky, which is available below.
‘Fallen Star’, which follows their 2021 album ‘Conquering’, is produced by Employed To Serve’s frequent collaborator Lewis Johns and features guest appearances from Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage and Serena Cherry, vocalist of Svalbard. You can watch the video for ‘Fallen Star’ below.
The tracklist for ‘Fallen Star’ is as follows:
1. Treachery
2. Fallen Star
3. Atonement (feat. Will Ramos)
4. Breams Me Down
5. Familiar Pain
6. Brother, Stand Beside Me
7. Now Thy Kingdom Come
8. Last Laugh (feat. Serena Cherry)
9. Whose Side Are You On? (feat. Jesse Leach)
10. The Renegades
11. From This Day Forward
