Matt Maltese is set to release his new album, ‘Hers’, on May 16th.
The UK singer-songwriter has finished work on his latest album, marking his first fully self-produced project since his second LP, ‘Krystal’.
As his sixth album, ‘Hers’ showcases the creatively introspective lyricist as he delves into his more self-deprecating tendencies, examining various aspects of masculinity. “I’ve mentioned this before, but I truly believe that the best work comes from allowing yourself to be vulnerable,” Maltese shares in a press statement. “The objective isn’t to come off as the coolest person, but rather to be open and relatable. I believe I’ve managed to achieve that with this record.”
Additionally, he is embracing a long-term relationship, with themes of commitment standing out throughout the album. “I’ve written numerous songs born from fleeting infatuation, but this album reflects a deeper, long-lasting love. It captures the complexities and beautiful journeys it entails, as well as the more profound heartaches that arise from it. I had the opportunity to truly ponder and craft it… It’s analogous to having a year to compose a significant email,” he explains.
The new single ‘Always Some MF’ is currently available – it’s playful, sharp, and clever, embodying classic Matt Maltese.
