Chloe Qisha has released her impressive new single, ‘Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread’.
These are peculiar times, characterized by economic turmoil, war, and humanitarian crises filling the news. Consequently, escapism is essential, and this blend of hedonism and darkness inspires Chloe Qisha's latest track.
Released just days before her sold-out headline show at Omera in London, ‘Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread’ is an immediately captivating new anthem.
This marks her second release of 2025, following the hugely successful single ‘21st Century Cool Girl’. The song is a pulsating, explicit, and incredibly catchy pop hit.
With a bold, lively vocal and an outstanding arrangement, there seems to be a hidden connection to UK icon Ian Dury as well.
Speaking about the song, Chloe Qisha shares…
Last year, Rob Milton, Mary Weitz, and I were listening to songs on Spotify when Ian Dury’s ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’ played. Mary chuckled and asked, “What would the modern version of that title be today?” We threw out ideas like ‘Sex, Drugs and Yoga’, ‘Sex, Drugs and Green Juice’, and eventually, someone mentioned ‘Existential Dread’—and what began as a joke evolved into a complete song!
At its heart, the song reflects me entirely; I’m a major homebody who feels happiest curled up on my couch with my cats. Naturally, that happiness is tinged with anxiety because what would life be without a touch of existential dread?
Tune in now.
