M(h)aol is set to release their new album titled ‘Something Soft’ on May 16th.
The band is divided between Dublin, Belfast, and London, and their debut album ‘Attachment Styles’ released in 2023 has generated considerable underground buzz.
After being noticed by Merge Records during an impressive live performance, M(h)aol has outlined their plans for the upcoming album.
Due out on May 16th, the forthcoming album ‘Something Soft’ was produced with Jamie Hyland and includes 11 tracks (as well as a kitten featured in the artwork).
The new single ‘DM:AM’ has just been released, showcasing a raw and intense noise that moves with purposeful energy. Confident and anthemic, it highlights M(h)aol’s strengths. The band describes it as follows:
“This song addresses the issue of men who send direct messages to women on social media and become aggressive when they don’t receive the desired response. They then resort to insulting the women, and when the woman threatens to reveal their behavior, she's met with a barrage of excuses and explanations meant to elicit sympathy.”
