Butcher Brown is set to release their new album, ‘Letters From The Atlantic,’ on March 28th.
The band combines jazz skills with a strong love for hip-hop, giving their performances a soulful and improvisational vibe. As they return to the studio, Butcher Brown has outlined their next project, which features a variety of special guests.
The upcoming album, ‘Letters From The Atlantic,’ is scheduled for release on March 28th. The group shared their thoughts:
“We want the entire record to evoke the feeling of drifting along the coast – from Chesapeake Bay to New York, down to Florida, and across to Europe. It’s a journey that allows you to interpret what each song signifies for you. It reflects all the music we appreciate, capturing a sense of nostalgia for Virginia, the East Coast, and beyond. We’re drawing inspiration from The Atlantic…”
Featured guests on the album include Yaya Bey, Melanie Charles, Nicholas Payton, and more, with the new single ‘Ibiza’ available now.
Paying homage to the vibe of the White Island, ‘Ibiza’ merges Butcher Brown’s skills with a passion for deep house, a genre rooted in the clubs of New York and New Jersey.
With a gently uplifting quality, Butcher Brown approaches these bold shifts with a certain flair. The band elaborates:
“We recorded this track with the vision of tapping into deep house music – the kind you would experience in a dance club in New York or the UK. As producers, we’re thinking about the samples a DJ would discover and remix into a groove. But we’re doing it all live, no samples, reinterpreting it in our unique style,” they explain. “We’re paying homage to DJs and producers who inspire us, such as Theo Parrish, Jazzy Jeff, DJ Spinna, Karizma, and DJ Scratch. We’re also aiming to manifest our live debut in Ibiza once they hear it.”
