Green Man has announced the details of this year's Green Man Rising Competition, a program that allows emerging artists to apply for the opportunity to open the festival's main stage at the sold-out event in 2025. Last year's competition was won by the up-and-coming group The Orchestra (For Now), who also received a professional recording session at the festival as part of their reward. This competition provides grassroots artists with a significant platform, and previous winners have gained recognition from prestigious awards like the Mercury Prize and BBC Radio. Applications for Green Man Rising 2025 are now open until April 7th (more information and application details can be found here). Following that, a panel of industry experts will select five artists to perform in the live finals of the competition at Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach on May 20th. The winner will play on the festival's iconic main Mountain Stage, while the runners-up will perform on the Rising Stage. The launch of the competition coincides with the eagerly awaited announcement of Green Man's 2025 lineup, featuring headliners such as Kneecap, Wet Leg, Underworld, and TV On The Radio. Attendees at the sold-out weekend can also expect performances from artists like Wunderhorse, Perfume Genius, CMAT, English Teacher, and many others. Green Man 2025 will occur from August 14th to 17th in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park; further details can be found here, along with the complete lineup below.
