Swedish synth duo Sally Shapiro has announced their upcoming album titled "Ready To Live A Lie."
Comprising producer Johan Agebjörn and lead vocalist Sally Shapiro, the duo blends Italo synth sounds with chilly pop influences, creating recordings that evoke dystopian imagery.
In 2022, Sally Shapiro made their debut on the label Italians Do It Better—where they truly belong—with their track "Sad Cities," and they are now returning with fresh material.
Set to release on May 30th, "Ready To Live A Lie" addresses everything from the micro to the macro, merging bleak political themes with our tendencies toward self-deception.
Regarding the album, Johan states, “We exist in a time of falsehoods. We mislead ourselves, our partners, and others around us. On social media, we create images of ideal lives, only to receive a stream of untruths from algorithms, newsfeeds, and politicians.”
Sally comments, “Yet, perhaps we sometimes require these deceptions to cope. Maybe isolation is inevitable, and we do our best to navigate through life.”
