caroline rushes back with their new track ‘Total Euphoria.’
The multi-member group originally started in Manchester before establishing their base in London. Their debut album received well-deserved acclaim, but since then, caroline has kept a low profile, taking the time to concentrate on their next move.
Emerging from this hiatus, caroline have now announced plans for a UK headline tour, which will include a performance at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on June 3rd.
In addition, they have revealed the ambitiously dynamic track ‘Total Euphoria’ — a fusion of sound that transitions from sharp violin to intense electronic elements, all held together by a loose, “broken rock beat” vibe.
The band shares…
The initial version of this song was performed by the trio (Mike, Casper, and Jasper) in 2020 while we were working on our first album. It had a similar sound to the guitars in the latter part of ‘Natural Death’ — off-kilter and syncopated — but it was played in a much more chaotic and untidy way, with a broken rock beat occasionally bursting through. It didn’t fully align with the music we were creating and recording at that time, but there was a spark there that we wanted to explore later.
Eventually, it developed into one of many elements that felt great to play for 20 minutes straight. This one, in particular, stood out because it was consistently loud and intense, which was somewhat atypical for us at that moment, and everyone was playing three different rhythms at the same time, creating a seemingly endless cycle. Jasper then took the main chords and crafted some lovely melodies for the vocals, after which we assembled all the other parts with the rest of the band and finalized the structure. We recognized the incredible potential of how good it sounded with Jasper and Magda singing together, and they collaborated on additional vocals and harmonies.
Tune in now.
