Marika Hackman and Laura Marling have collaborated to rework ‘Skin’ - a song from Hackman's 2015 debut album, ‘We Slept At Last’ - and the outcome is, as expected, remarkable. The duet, produced by Marika herself, was conceived as part of Abbey Road’s annual partnership with Pitchfork London and was partially recorded in the famous studios. This marks the first release from Hackman since her fourth album, ‘Big Sigh’, was released at the beginning of last year; in contrast, Laura has recently unveiled her reflections on motherhood and family heritage through her beautiful eighth album, ‘Patterns In Repeat’. Celebrating ten years since her debut in a memorable way, Marika will perform ‘We Slept At Last’ in its entirety (along with various tracks from her catalogue) accompanied by full string arrangements at a sold-out concert at London’s Union Chapel this Friday. Enjoy the new rendition of ‘Skin’ below.
